Notes on common prooftexts sometimes cited with Peter
• Acts 2:42 and Acts 2:46 mention breaking bread in a daily temple-centered setting with common meals from house to house. These are not Peter’s epistle instructions, and they do not create a communion ordinance in his letters.
• 2 Peter 2:13 mentions feasting in a rebuke of false teachers. It is a moral warning about bad actors at meals, not a communion chapter.
• 1 Peter 3:21 mentions baptism and immediately clarifies it is not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God.
